As a 53-year career banker, Ron Mosier is interested in seeing what’s beyond the neon signs and advertising lingo of a bank. How risky are they? How profitable? His biggest thrill of all is when he has a hand in heading off problems or working on an existing problem and thereby keeping a bank from experiencing difficulties down the road. The former CEO and Chairman of the Board of several community banks started his bank consulting firm in 1997 assisting banks with credit memorandums, loan reviews, and due diligence. He is teaming up with McSwain to offer these and other analytical and management studies.
Mosier lives on the lake and thereby gets to enjoy his love of fishing, reading and writing, and time with his bride of 50-plus years who teaches part-time in a rural school. They enjoy spending time with their nieces and nephews. He volunteers with Meals on Wheels and the Coves Garden Club and Coves Homeowner’s Association.
Barry Rudy fully intended to go into criminal justice. Thankfully for the banking industry, he listened to his wife and accepted a commercial lending position in Wichita, KS instead. That was about 200 banks ago.
Rudy worked in state banking until 1990 with nearly 30 banks just within the BancFirst family in Oklahoma. He’s also thankful to be a part of banking because he believes it’s the heart and lifeline of all communities. He’s certainly seen a number of challenges since his start in the 1970s, especially in the 1980s when the state of Oklahoma saw 120 plus banks fail and he dealt with the massive clean-up in the 80’s and 90’s.
What kept him going as a bank consultant, during that time and since, was a passion for credit risk management, stress testing of individual credits and loan portfolios and the importance of comprehensive and timely credit related management information.
Barry Rudy & Associates provides traditional loan review services for community banks and a wide array of ancillary lending function services and due diligence.
Born and raised in a small western Oklahoma town, Mike Muncy tries to look at any challenge positively, and always remembers what it’s like to sit on the other side of the desk. Muncy began working in community banking in the 1980s gaining most of his early experience with ONB Duncan so he’s seen firsthand how technology and the shifting tides of the economy have changed the banking industry.
Following his tenure in Duncan, Muncy began working with Barry Rudy & Associates, where he’s been for nine years. He’s most enjoyed getting to see the variety of banks in various stages of their life cycle and helping them overcome challenges and find success.
He sits on the SWOSU Foundation Board of Trustees and is a member of the SWOSU Alumni Association.
